We are a professional Medical Esthetics and Vein Clinic. Our veincare includes a pro-active approach to treating varicose and spider veins and avoiding future complications. We treat veins with Sclerotherapy – where a medication is injected into the vessels that causes them to“shrivel up” and fade. A consultation is required to assess your symptoms and determine if you are a candidate for the treatment.
What can Sclerotherapy do for me?
Sclerotherapy can be performed to eliminate spider or varicose veins on the legs. Sclerotherapy also reduces symptoms associated with spider and varicose veins such as, heavy, achy legs, restless legs, swelling and burning.
How does Sclerotherapy work?
During your Sclerotherapy treatment, a medication is injected into the affected vessels with a tiny needle. Patients report that they “barely feel anything” during the treatments. Treatments usually last 45 minutes. Afterwards, your legs may be red and have the appearance of “mosquito bites” at the sites that were injected. These usually disappear within 24 hours. We will encourage you to apply your compression stockings immediately after treatment, if required. You will also be instructed to walk for 20 minutes after the procedure. You may participate in most regular activities after your treatment. Your nurse will provide you with detailed post-procedure care instructions before you leave.
What results can I expect after my Sclerotherapy treatment?
You can expect a gradual disappearance of veins that were treated. If you were experiencing symptoms prior to treatment, you can expect a decrease or complete resolution of your symptoms. Your spider and/or varicose veins will fade over the next several weeks. This process is gradual and can take at least 3-6 weeks, sometimes longer to see your final results.
How many vein treatments will I need?
The number of treatments you will need depends on the size of the areas to be treated, the vessels characteristics, your adherence to post treatment instructions and your individual response to treatment. Most patients with a moderate amount of spider veins require 1-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
