Photofacials, also known as “IPL” treatments are a light based treatment that diminishes brown “sunspots” and tiny blood vessels on the skin. This treatment also clears the redness associated with Rosacea and ultimately evens out skin tone. A Photofacial can diminish signs of sun damage and element exposure, restoring your complexion, leaving you with a refreshed appearance. Bring back your natural glow with a rejuvenating Photofacial.
How does a Photofacial (IPL) treatment work?
Photofacials utilize technology that emits “Intense Pulsed Light” (IPL) through the skin to penetrate target areas, much like a laser device. Specialized light pulses are delivered to your skin that breaks down dark “sunspots” and constricts vessels without harming the surrounding skin. This process can even out skin tone and decrease the appearance of tiny blood vessels and redness. Our clinic uses top of the line equipment to ensure our patients receive the best results.
What can I expect after my Photofacial?
You can expect to see a gradual disappearance of brown spots and blood vessels. Initially, brown spots may become darker for up to 14 days, then slough off. Some spots may just fade. Blood vessels may constrict and then fade. Patients with Rosacea will see a diminished overall redness. You can expect to see a clearer, and more even toned complexion.
How many treatments will I need?
You may need more than 1 session to achieve your desired results, depending on your level of skin damage. Many patients require a series of treatments spaced 4 weeks apart to obtain optimal results. On average, patients reach their goal in 1-3 sessions.
