Laser Skin Resurfacing
We perform laser skin resurfacing using state of the art laser technology with our non-ablative fractional laser. Fractional laser sends several small laser beams into the deeper parts of the skin to break down collagen and elastin. The skin reacts by producing new fibres that help to tighten and firm the skin.
What can laser skin resurfacing (non-ablative fractional laser treatments) do for me?
Our fractional laser treatments are used for:
- Tightening lines and surface wrinkles
- Improving acne scarring
- Tightening stretch marks
- Decreasing rough, porous skin texture
- Improving scars
- Firming loose skin
- Effectively treating Melasma
Treatments can be applied to skin on the face and any body part.
How does a laser skin resurfacing (fractional laser treatment) work?
Laser skin resurfacing works by sending several small laser beams of light into the deeper skin (without disturbing the outer layer of skin) to breakdown collagen and elastin, which help provide the framework for skin firmness and elasticity. The skin must then regenerate itself, rebuilding its structure over time. This process is much like aerating a lawn. When the skin regenerates, it becomes tighter and firmer. This process can also be achieved by Microneedling, however Microneedling pierces the top layer of skin and is therefore more invasive. Our laser has a special optic that helps break up the dark areas in the skin caused by Melasma.
What can I expect after my laser skin resurfacing treatment?
You can expect your skin to be moderately red, swollen and warm to touch. You will be strongly encouraged to cool the skin with ice or cold compresses until the skin no longer feels warm to the touch. This can last 24-72 hours. Symptoms subside faster if you keep the skin cool. You may also feel the sensation of a sunburn. This laser skin treatment may make your skin feel dry, tight and itchy after the treatment. Using a good moisturizer will relieve these symptoms.
