BOTOX® is a medication that is injected into certain areas to relax the muscles in the face that create lines and wrinkles. BOTOX® injections are a simple, quick procedure with no down time. Many call it the “lunch time procedure”.
What areas can be treated with BOTOX® injections?
BOTOX® is most often used to treat:
- Frown lines (between the eyebrows)
- Crow’s feet
- Forehead lines
- Lip lines
- Drooping corners of the mouth
BOTOX® can be used to treat medical conditions such as, tension headaches, migraines, and teeth grinding.
What results can I expect after my BOTOX® treatment?
You can expect to see the full effect of Botox in 2 weeks. Treatment in specific areas will smooth the appearance of any wrinkles and it can also prevent wrinkles from forming. BOTOX® treatment in the frown lines and crow’s feet can provide a subtle “brow lift” and relieve you of the “tired and angry” appearance.
How long does the treatment with BOTOX® last?
BOTOX® treatments usually last 4-6 months and sometimes longer. The effects of BOTOX® are temporary and will gradually wear off.
Do I have to continue my BOTOX® treatments?
Because BOTOX® is temporary, many patients choose to continue maintaining treatments every 4-6 months because they are happy with the way they look and feel. You can also choose to let it wear off and simply return to your usual look. BOTOX® is not an addictive medication. Patients who maintain their treatments feel better when they look in the mirror. Feeling good about what you see is the addiction!
I am afraid of looking like I have a “frozen face”
We ensure we utilize “Best Practices” when planning your BOTOX® treatment. These guidelines help us to determine the amount of BOTOX® needed for each area. We do not give our patients a “frozen face”. In fact, the results of our Botox treatments give you a natural, refreshed and rejuvenated look.
